The Prime Minister of the Greek Government, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, together with the competent Ministries, announced a series of emergency measures to address the consequences of the COVID - 19 virus spread for the next two weeks.

Based on the announcement, the further measures including an immediate 14 - day self - isolation requirement on all people from abroad and closure of all retail stores from the 18th Wednesday of 2020. This will not extend to the closure of supermarkets, pharmacies, fuel stations and banks. In addition, it is closing off the country's borders with Albania and North Macedonia and suspending ferry services with Italy and air connections with Spain. It is also highlighted that based on the guidelines of the Government,  all schools of the country have closed as well as many enterprises and the governmental offices are operating with basic staff since the target is to convince people to stay at home and avoid social interaction.

Within the frame of the general measures taken by the Greek government in order to slow down the coronavirus spread and according to a joint ministerial decision, Greek Courts’ working procedures are being suspended. In particular, the Courts’ essential activities will in principle be maintained and especially the handling of priority cases.

Furthermore, on the basis of the Athens Bar Association decision, Lawyers, law firms and legal departments of companies that have more than four employees working in the same room, are requested to reduce their physical presence, adopting alternative tools like working from home. No more than two employees per room are allowed.

Our law firm, following the instructions of the Ministry of Health, suspends the physical presence of its staff and teleworking has been put in place to ensure the continuity of our activities. In adittion, our building is accessible only from associate lawyers and nobody else can access. For this reason, our service standards are adversely affected, and we are asking for your understanding. At the same time, we commit ourselves to continue supporting you and encourage you to contact us through emails, conference calls and Skype meetings to resolve pending issues.
